Dr. Spoonamore completed her residency in general psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where she was the senior resident on the inpatient psychiatric unit and honored with the ambassador of patient care and satisfaction award at North General Hospital. Dr. Spoonamore graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a bachelors of science. She completed her medical degree from the University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten that included clinical clerkships at the University of Kentucky, Tulane University School of Medicine, and Waterford Regional Hospital in Ireland. After completing the end of her medical school training in Europe, she entered the transitional residency program at Tulane University School of Medicine, department of Family and Community Medicine Services.

Dr. Spoonamore is currently an Attending Psychiatrist at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT. She specializes in the treatment of dual diagnosis, including depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and addictive disorders. Dr. Spoonamore is certified to use Buprenorphine (Suboxone) for the treatment of opioid detoxification and maintenance. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Treatments consist of: Neuropsychopharmacology, certification in Buprenorphine (Suboxone) and Psychotherapy.
